boreGONE! Bio-insecticide is for use against Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in North American hardwood forests. The customers / potential customers are the US Federal Government, state and local municipalities/cities, aerial applicators and private foresters, and Canadian Forest Service. Phyllom’s product boreGONE! has no competition for aerial treatments.
Based on a natural wild-type Bt strain, boreGONE! is expected to be approved under USDA National Organic Program (NOP). Whereas, current individual tree injection or tree removal may cost hundreds per tree, boreGONE! will cost a few dollars per tree.
Forestry collaborators are the USDA Forest Service, USDA APHIS, Michigan State University, the Illinois DNR, other various state DNR agencies and the Morton Arboretum. These development partners provide clear feedback and unbiased proof of boreGONE!’s fitness against invasive forest pests now causing $2.5 Billion in annual losses.
